Obituary of Norma J. Talbot

HERKIMER – Mrs. Norma J. Talbot, age 85, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday morning, March 8, 2022, at the MVHS St. Luke’s Campus. Born in Oneonta, NY on April 26, 1936, Norma was the daughter of the late Clifford and Evelyn (Stoffel) Camp. She was raised and educated in Cooperstown and was a high school graduate. On April 12, 1953, Norma was wed to Robert Talbot in Newport, NY and together they shared in a blessed and devoted union of over 68 years. As a woman of strong work ethic, Norma was employed for many years with the Mohawk Valley General Hospital as a technician. In her free time, Norma enjoyed the outdoors with her husband and family, camping and taking hikes in the woods. One of Norma’s greatest accomplishments was that of being a self-taught professional seamstress. Her talents were widely known and enjoyed by her family and friends. Norma is survived by her husband, Robert of Herkimer; her son, Robert Talbot, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Arizona; her daughters, Kim Archer and husband, Robert, of Frankfort and Jennifer Talbot of Little Falls; 7 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She also leaves her close friends, Marilyn Hughes and Mickie Finch. Aside from her parents, Norma was predeceased by an infant daughter, and by her grandson, Robert Talbot, III. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. Her earthly remains will be laid to rest in Fly Creek Cemetery in the springtime, at the convenience of her family. Final arrangements were pre-arranged and entrusted to the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315) 866-1011, Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at
