Obituary of Lynda Fletcher

LITTLE FALLS – Mrs. Lynda C. Fletcher, age 93, a lifelong area resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, January 30, 2022, at the FoltsBrook Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, where she has received compassionate care throughout these last few years. Born in Dolgeville on April 17, 1928, Lynda was the last living child of the late Floyd and Ella (Silvernail) Van Slyke. She was raised and educated in Dolgeville and was blessed to share in a marriage with the late Walter Fletcher. Throughout her working career, Lynda was employed with the unemployment office in Herkimer as well as with Catholic Charities where she was a clerk. Lynda’s greatest joy in life was being surrounded by her ever-growing family; they brought such joy and fullness to her life. Lynda is survived by her daughter, Concetta Youker of Salisbury Center; her son, Theodore Youker and wife, Julie, of Lassellsville, NY; sixteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, beloved daughter, Wanita Rulison, and her siblings, Herbert Van Slyke, Floyd Van Slyke, Jane Bevers, Jeanette Olson, Ardis Pfannebecker and Ellen Barton. In keeping with Lynda’s wishes there will be no formal funeral services at this time. Her earthly remains will be laid to rest in Dolgeville Cemetery in the spring of 2022 at the convenience of her family.
