Obituary of Ann Seymour


ILION – Ann M. (Sporer) Seymour, age 80, of 359 Otsego St., Ilion, formerly of Prindle Apts., Ilion, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2018.


She was born on January 28, 1938, in Frankfort, the daughter of Fredrick and Margaret (Christian) Sporer.  Ann attended Annunciation School, Ilion, and graduated from Mohawk High School.  On June 30, 1984, she was married to Kenneth L. Seymour, in Ilion.  He died on November 1, 1996.  In her early years, Ann was employed at Sperry Rand Univac for 18 years.  She later worked as a keypunch operator at Remington Arms Co., Ilion for 15 years, retiring in 1997.  Ann was an active member in the Ilion Chapter Women of the Moose and held various offices.


Surviving family members include her son, Thomas Seymour and his wife, Penny, with whom Ann resided with in Ilion.  She is also survived by Joanne Miller, of Cold Brook, and Cynthia Seymour, of Frankfort; 7 grandchildren, Taylor Seymour, of Ilion, Grant Seymour, Meaghan Ruppert, and Blake Seymour, all of Ilion, Natashia Fuller and her husband, Corey, of Fairfield, Maegan Miller, of Remsen, and Kassie Miller, of Little Falls; and several great-grandchildren; her brother, James Sporer, of Ilion; her brother-in-law, John Seymour, of Ilion; her sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Hornet and her husband, Arthur, of New Hartford, and Lorraine Loomis and her husband, Bob, of Frankfort; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and 2 special friends, Mary (Finnegan) Jones and Robert Hollum.


She was predeceased by her husband, Ken; her parents; and her cousin, Pat Bechard.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s original location at 102 West St., Ilion.


Ann’s Funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation, at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, at the funeral home, with Deacon James Bower, officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak View Cemetery, Frankfort, next to her husband, Ken.
